Portable Synthetic Electroacoustic Quadraphonic Opera in 1 Act
for 3 Singers and 8 synthetic narrators + electroacoustic music + video projections
The Portable Opera Transmigrati0n is a musical adventure in quadraphony (4.1) – for 3 synthetic ‘virtuoso’ singers (not A.I.s): soprano, countertenor and tenor, in addition to 8 synthetic narrators (also not A.I.s), who are humanized through small and large mistakes, as well as choking and other (human?) behaviors. The plot narrates the transmigration of human consciousness to another body, perhaps eternal or changeable. It is an electroacoustic opera in the sense that all the main sound and temporal elements are predefined.
Lasting 59 minutes and 01 seconds, it will feature a live musical introduction – with the Gran Corda instrument (a Pythagorean monochord up to 20 meters long) invented by Sukorski – immersed in deep sub-bass, followed by the scenes: You Are in? Duetto, Tcheck check, e-Chaos, Your Metamorphosis is complete and Recap.
The concepts outlined in Hans Peter Moravec’s ‘Transmigration’ provide the introduction to a more complex explanation of ‘how to migrate your consciousness into a program on a super-powerful computer equivalent to the capabilities of humans, or some related machine – I mean, all the quantum computing to come’. After this, your consciousness – some would say, your soul – can be transferred into any ‘body’ – ‘in the style, color and material of your choosing’.
The Music is divided into 8 sections that gradually reveal in detail the irreversible surgical operation, the transmigration – through a mix of different narrators. Each one with a different accent and mainly with their own type of error… The electronic part is projected in 4.1 with strong components of sensory immersion – in a unique experience… The incidental videos highlight the graphic design of the composition and the narrative – which facilitates the understanding of the intricacies of the work… Until its metamorphosis is complete.
